I love essential oils. Seriously, there has to be an Essential oil for everything. Including Oral Health.
Below you will find the 5 main essential oils I use in my oral health routine as well as a couple of ways on how I use them.
The Top 5 Essential Oils for Oral Health
Peppermint essential oil has a refreshing minty smell and an antimicrobial property that works great on bad breath and kills the germs and bacteria creating the bad breath.
Clove is my go to essential oil when I have a tooth ache. It works as a great analgesic and it has antimicrobial, anti-fungal, antiseptic, antiviral properties.
Thyme essential oil helps protect teeth from decay. It also has an antiseptic, antibacterial and high antioxidant properties.
Tea tree essential oil has antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties making it a great bacteria killer as well as other germs.
Cinnamon essential oil has a sweet warm flavor and has strong anti parasitic, anti-inflammatory, anti platelet and antiviral properties. It’s great at soothing irritated and bleeding gums.
Ways to use Essential Oils for Oral Health
Here are 3 ways to use essential oils in your oral health routines:
A small glass jar (reuse a baby food jar)
3 tbs baking soda
3 tbs coconut oil.
2 tsp sea salt

*Don’t want to make your own toothpaste but still want to use essential oils as a benefit to your regular oral health routine, add 1 drop of your essential oil of choice to your toothbrush before or after adding your regular toothpaste.

2 cups distilled water
1 tbsp sea salt
3 drops of peppermint
3 drops of tea tree
3 drops of cinnamon
2 drops of thyme
1 drop of clove
Breath Freshener Spray
*DIY Binaca Spray
A dark-colored 2 oz glass fine mist spray bottle
2 drops peppermint
2 drops spearmint
2 drops cinnamon
Fill the rest of bottle with distilled water
