Did you know you can use Essential Oils for Dogs? Well you can and I am going to share with you the Essential Oils I use for my best friend so you can use them for yours.

Essential Oils for dogs

Frankincense

Anxiety, infections, bites, wound care, inflammation

Lavender

Calming aid, allergies, anxiety, wound healing, insect repellent

Helichrysum

Wound care, helps stop bleeding

Cedarwood

Healthy coat, insect repellent

Peppermint

Pain relief, upset stomach, respiratory problems

5 ways to use essential oils for dogs

Not only are essential oils amazing, they can basically replace just about all pet meds and other products. This helps in saving money because pet stuff is expensive. Make your pet happy DIY style!

*FOR DOGS ONLY* Do not use on cats or other pets.

Separation Anxiety Diffuser Blend

  • 4 drops Orange essential oil
  • 3 drops of Ylang Ylang essential oil
  • 3 drops of Lavender essential oil

Flea collar for Dogs

  • 2 tsp witch hazel
  • 4 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops of Lemon essential oil
  • 3 drops of Cedarwood essential oil
  • 2 drops of Thyme essential oil

Add above ingredients to a bowl and mix

Soak collar or bandana until completely absorbed

Allow to dry before putting on dog

Natural soothing shampoo for Dogs

  • 16 oz distilled water
  • 2 Tablespoons of liquid castile soap
  • 4 drops of Cedarwood essential oil
  • 3 drops of Rosemary essential oil
  • 3 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops of Frankincense essential oil
  • 2 drops of Peppermint essential oil
  • 1 drop of Eucalyptus essential oil

Add to a glass bottle

Pain blend

  • 6 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 4 drops of Thyme essential oil
  • 4 drops of Helichrysum essential oil
  • 3 drops of Ginger essential oil

Diffuse

Mix with 6 oz. of coconut oil and apply/massage to affected area

Add to glass spray bottle with 2 oz. witch hazel and 3 oz. distilled water and spray on affected area

Itchy, hot spot, bite relief

  • 3 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops of Frankincense essential oil
  • 2 drops of Chamomile essential oil
  • 1 drop of Peppermint essential oil
  • 1 drop of Helichrysum essential oil
  • 1 drop of Tea Tree essential oil

Mix with 3 oz. of coconut oil and apply to affected area

Add to glass spray bottle with 2 oz. witch hazel and 3 oz. distilled water and spray on affected area

CAUTION

While these essential oils for dogs are OK to use, it is advisable to contact your dogs veterinarian before use.

Essential oils are very potent and should not be used alone. Always Dilute before use.

    I pinned this and i have these oils. I plan to try it on my pup, i don’t like using those flea collars unless i have to.

  • My dog is suffering from joint pain, I think. I need to come up with a remedy for him. It’s not all the time but when it does attack, it is hurtful.

    • Try the pain blend spray or apply directly where it seems to be bothering your baby. also try icing and if possible elevate. just like you would yourself 🙂 good luck I hope this helps.
